Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the MeishiIQ application for iPhone ("the Service"). By using the Service you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy, that you are at least 18 years of age, and that you are able to enter a binding agreement.
1. The Service
MeishiIQ scans business cards you choose to capture, extracts their details on your device, and organises the contacts, notes, follow-ups and events around them. At your request it applies AI features (card verification, research, chat and pre-meeting briefs) using an AI provider and API key that you supply. The Service also offers optional iCloud sync, saving into iPhone Contacts, exports, and a full archive for moving your library between apps.
2. Your responsibilities
- The people on the cards — you are solely responsible for obtaining cards and personal information lawfully and for respecting the expectations of the people who hand you their card, including applicable data-protection law (such as the PDPA or GDPR) when you store, export or share their details.
- Your content — you retain full ownership of your contacts, card images, notes and exports. You are responsible for what you scan, store and share.
- API keys and third-party services — AI features use accounts and keys you hold with Anthropic, OpenAI, or OpenRouter. Your use of those services is governed by their terms, and their charges are your responsibility.
- Lawful use — you must not use the Service for unlawful purposes, to infringe others' rights, or to harm others.
3. AI and extraction disclaimer
Text recognition, parsing, validation, AI verification, research results, chat responses and briefs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or misattributed. They are assistance, not a record of truth. Verify important details before relying on them or sharing them, particularly for decisions of consequence.
4. Licence
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service on Apple devices you own or control. The Service's software, design, and branding remain the property of the developer. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service except as permitted by law.
5. Your content licence to us
None is required: your content stays on your device and your chosen services. The Service claims no licence over your contacts, images or notes, and does not use your content to train models.
6. Third-party services
The Service integrates with services we do not control (AI providers, iCloud, Apple Contacts, mail clients). We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, or terms. Links or hand-offs to them are at your own risk.
7. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that extraction or AI output will be accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data loss will never occur. Keep backups of important data — the archive export exists for exactly this.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time; delete your data in Settings and remove the app. These Terms' provisions on ownership, disclaimers, and liability survive termination.
10. Changes
The Service and these Terms may change over time. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected here and in the app with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. If any provision is held invalid, the remainder continues in effect. Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
