Privacy Policy
Effective 25 August 2026
3DSpoolIQ helps you manage 3D-printing filament inventory, spool weights, print history, printer observations, preferences and optional notes. We do not sell personal data, serve behavioural advertising or track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Where your data is stored
App data is stored on your device and, when you enable iCloud Sync, in your private Apple iCloud database. Apple provides the synchronisation service. AI provider API keys and Bambu LAN access codes are stored in the device Keychain and are not included in your workspace or synchronised through iCloud.
Optional AI features
AI features are optional and require your explicit consent. You select OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter and provide your own API key. Before a request is sent, the app shows the categories of workshop data that will be shared. Notes, print history and saved AI memory are excluded unless you choose to include them. Purchase prices are not sent. A photo is sent only when you initiate a photo-based workflow. The selected provider processes the request under its own terms and privacy policy. When you use OpenRouter, OpenRouter forwards the request to the downstream model provider you selected, so both OpenRouter and that model provider process the request under their respective terms and privacy policies. Any third party receiving app data is required to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable privacy requirements. If that assurance cannot be maintained for a provider or downstream model, that option will be removed from the distributed app.
Printer connection
The macOS app can make an encrypted, read-only connection to a compatible Bambu Lab printer on your local network. It reads printer status, temperatures, job state and AMS filament observations. It does not control the printer. The LAN access code remains in macOS Keychain. Saved printer observations follow your selected workspace storage setting.
Data categories
Depending on the features you use, app content can include your workshop display name, profile description, profile photo, marketplace URL, filament purchase records, inventory, spool-label photos, notes, print records, settings and printer observations. Synced records are linked to your Apple Account through private CloudKit. Photos and other content sent to an AI provider can be linked to your provider account through your API key. This content is used only for app functionality and is not used for tracking.
Your controls
You can export a workspace backup, withdraw AI consent, remove provider keys and clear confirmed AI memory from Settings. Withdrawing AI consent prevents new AI requests but cannot recall a request already processed by a provider. To stop iCloud access for 3DSpoolIQ or delete its private CloudKit data, use the applicable Apple iCloud controls in your device settings or Apple Account. Leaving the workspace in 3DSpoolIQ closes it on that device but does not delete its iCloud data.
Retention and security
Local cached data remains until it is cleared by the operating system or you remove the app. Private CloudKit data remains in your Apple Account until you remove it through Apple's iCloud controls. 3DSpoolIQ uses Apple Keychain for secrets, encrypted network connections and validation before restoring workspace backups.
